Kuka Robots Setup

SUMMARY

This guide walks through connecting a physical KUKA controller to your network as a first step toward Synapse control. Live hardware control for KUKA is coming soon.

For supported models and specifications, see All Supported Manipulators.

Hardware Setup

Connect Ethernet cable from your PC to the KUKA controller

Configure your PC network on the same subnet as the controller

Read the robot's IP from the smartPAD (Network Configuration), then set a static IP on your PC in the same subnet, e.g. robot 192.168.1.1 → PC 192.168.1.2, subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

Verify connectivity with ping

bash
ping 192.168.1.1 # replace with your robot's IP

Enable Remote Control on the smartPAD Coming soon

Live hardware control for KUKA is in development. Once available, enabling remote/network control on the smartPAD will let Synapse drive the robot the same way it does Universal Robots today.
